Big Mac Tater Tot Casserole turns a classic burger into a baked dish layered with seasoned beef, tangy pickles, melted cheese, and crispy tater tots. Perfect for a family meal or crowd-pleasing potluck.

lbs ground beef (80/20)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
1 cup Thousand Island dressing
¾ cup chopped dill pickles, divided
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.

  • Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, dressing, and half the pickles. Simmer 2–3 minutes.

  • Spread beef mixture in dish. Top with 1½ cups shredded cheddar.

  • Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top.

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until tots are golden and cheese is bubbling.

  • Add remaining pickles, a drizzle of dressing, remaining cheese, and sesame seeds. Bake 5 more minutes.

  • Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
