Big Mac Tater Tot Casserole turns a classic burger into a baked dish layered with seasoned beef, tangy pickles, melted cheese, and crispy tater tots. Perfect for a family meal or crowd-pleasing potluck.
1½ lbs ground beef (80/20)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
1 cup Thousand Island dressing
¾ cup chopped dill pickles, divided
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, dressing, and half the pickles. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
Spread beef mixture in dish. Top with 1½ cups shredded cheddar.
Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top.
Bake for 35–40 minutes until tots are golden and cheese is bubbling.
Add remaining pickles, a drizzle of dressing, remaining cheese, and sesame seeds. Bake 5 more minutes.
Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
