A savory bake combining seasoned beef, caramelized onions, melty cheese, and golden biscuits, inspired by the classic French dip sandwich.
2 cups cooked shredded roast beef
1½ cups beef broth or au jus
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
8 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits
2 tbsp butter, melted
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp parsley (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp oil or butter for sautéing
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook onions in oil over medium heat until soft and golden, about 8–10 minutes.
Add beef, broth, and Worcestershire. Simmer until warmed through.
Spread mixture in a greased 9×13-inch pan.
Layer cheese over beef.
Slightly flatten each biscuit and place on top.
Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush over biscuits.
Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until biscuits are golden and cooked through.
Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
