6 Belgian-style waffles, toasted and cubed
10 cooked chicken tenders, chopped
6 eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup real maple syrup
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 cup hot honey (plus extra for serving)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch dish.
Toast waffles and cut into cubes.
Bake chicken tenders, then chop into pieces.
Layer half the waffles, chicken, and cheese in the dish. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Whisk eggs, milk, cream, syrup, and seasonings in a bowl.
Pour over layers and press down gently.
Cover and chill for 1 hour or overnight.
Let come to room temperature for 20 minutes.
Bake covered for 30 minutes.
Remove foil, drizzle with butter, and bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes.
Rest 10 minutes before slicing.
Drizzle with warm hot honey and serve.
