8 oz spaghetti or long pasta
6–8 garlic cloves, minced or sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
2½ cups low-sodium broth (chicken or vegetable)
1 cup heavy cream
¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan
Salt and black pepper to taste
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh parsley or basil, chopped, for garnish
Heat oil and butter in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until soft and fragrant.
Stir in broth and cream; bring to a simmer.
Add dry pasta and cook uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring often.
Lower the heat and stir in Parmesan until melted and smooth.
Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Garnish with herbs and serve warm.
